Anucha unveils five policies under the "City of Eternal Blue... and more" campaign, volunteering to be an administrator connecting people and the city. The plan focuses on convenient travel, a clean city, comfortable living, increased income, and full transparency to elevate Bangkok into a perfect metropolis.
On 26 May 2026, Mr. Anucha Burapachaisri, the Democratic Party's candidate for Bangkok governor, held a press conference to launch his vision and development strategy for Bangkok under the "City of Eternal Blue... and more" campaign. The approach emphasizes integrated structural problem-solving, transforming Bangkok's administration from merely addressing immediate issues to becoming an organization that connects all city dimensions, improving residents' quality of life in every aspect.
Mr. Anucha said the "And More" concept represents a commitment to ensure Bangkok moves beyond just fixing daily problems. The city must become "more convenient, cleaner, more comfortable, generate more income, and more transparent." He is ready to serve as a connector among all sectors—systems, infrastructure, and citizens—through five main policies:
1. "Convenient Travel": Focus on solving disconnected travel issues, primarily by transferring the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) bus system directly under Bangkok's supervision. This aims to unify bus and electric train route design into a single system. A concrete feeder system will be established using electric shuttle buses (EV) to transport people from alleys or neighborhoods to main transit lines. AI technology will be used to monitor busy routes to optimize transit paths. Waterway routes will be revived with EV boats. Additionally, the government will collaborate with private sectors to implement a "common ticketing system" to reduce duplicate entry fees and transparently review electric train concessions for maximum public benefit.
2. "Clean City": Revamp Bangkok's waste management system by upgrading main waste disposal centers (such as On Nut, Nong Khaem, Sai Mai) to fully enclosed systems that control odor and wastewater to meet standards. Promote waste-to-energy technology to reduce landfill use and decentralize waste management centers to northern and eastern Bangkok zones to shorten transport time and pollution. Strictly enforce laws to detect black smoke vehicles, control dust from construction sites, and properly wash roads to address PM 2.5 pollution.
3. "Comfortable Living": Increase senior housing to support the growing elderly population and expand the Fast Track system that prioritizes dental services for seniors. Upgrade Bangkok's public health centers into "community clinics" capable of treating common illnesses effectively. Implement telemedicine and home medication delivery to ease overcrowding in major hospitals. Repurpose unused or abandoned state and private land into public spaces, sports fields, co-working spaces, AI hubs, and art spaces for artists. Organize sidewalks and clearly zone commercial and entertainment areas.
4. "Increased Income": Promote revenue growth for Bangkok to fund city development, such as imposing a hotel tax on foreign tourists. Create employment projects across all age groups, especially enabling retired seniors to work as volunteers for supplemental income. Transform Bangkok into a Smart City by streamlining permit processes, reducing delays to facilitate business operations, and supporting suburban agriculture to generate income.
5. "Full Transparency": Uphold the Democratic Party's principle of honest politics by adapting the "Srong Rat" platform for Bangkok. This will disclose local procurement and budget usage information for public scrutiny at every step. Develop real-time alert systems for disasters, PM 2.5 levels, and traffic conditions. Provide public access to CCTV footage in public areas to enhance safety of life and property.
"All these policies are interconnected parts of a mechanism that must move forward together. I firmly believe Bangkok can be more than it is now, and I am ready to be the governor who connects the city, its people, and all sectors to create a perfect City of Eternal Blue for everyone," Mr. Anucha said.
