
The Bunyamanee family humbly acknowledges the great royal kindness of His Majesty the King and the benevolence of the Supreme Patriarch during the royal cremation ceremony of Mrs. Kanlaya Bunyamanee.
On 26 May 2026, reporters reported that on 25 May 2026, His Majesty the King graciously bestowed the royal cremation for Mrs. Kanlaya Bunyamanee, M.V.M., P.C., retired civil servant from the Ministry of Interior, wife of Mr. Nipon Bunyamanee, former Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Interior, and mother of Mr. Sanphet Bunyamanee, Deputy Minister of Transport, at the crematorium of Wat Laem Sai, Mueang District, Songkhla Province. This brought immense joy and deep gratitude to the Bunyamanee family and was a great honor for the deceased.
At the same time, the Bunyamanee family expressed gratitude for the benevolence of His Holiness Somdet Phra Ariyavongsagatayana, the Supreme Patriarch of the Supreme Sangha Council, who officiated the funeral rites and graciously bestowed three sets of monk's robes and a bundle of sandalwood for the royal cremation ceremony. Somdet Phra Maha Wachiramanokaraj served as the chief monk, and the Prime Minister assigned Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn as the lay chairman to honor the deceased, who diligently served the public throughout her career. The ceremony was attended by family, friends, and numerous participants from all sectors who came to pay their respects and bid farewell.
Ceremonial staff brought the royal cremation urn granted by His Majesty the King along with the sandalwood and monk's robes bestowed by the Supreme Patriarch to the ceremony area, where the family and relatives of the deceased lined up to receive them with due honor.
Before the ceremony began, Mr. Nithikorn Bunyamanee, son of the deceased, read the royal orders from the Royal Household Bureau and the Secretariat of the Supreme Patriarch. Mr. Sanphet Bunyamanee, another son, expressed gratitude for the royal kindness, while Miss Nithiya Bunyamanee, daughter, read the biography and recalled the good deeds the deceased dedicated to society and the nation.
Then, the ceremony chairman draped the three monk's robes bestowed by the Supreme Patriarch, with monks of royal rank assisting according to the ceremony’s protocol. At 16:00, the chairman conducted the royal cremation ceremony and laid the sandalwood flowers in order.
Throughout the five days of merit-making, many attendees from various areas came to express their condolences. The Bunyamanee family thanked all sectors for attending to offer support and participate in the merit-making. The family donated a total of 5,075,066 baht collected during the ceremonies to the Songklanagarind Hospital Foundation to assist patients and support charitable medical work. This marked the fourth time the family has donated to the foundation. They also provided scholarships to ten schools within the Songkhla municipality.
