Cabinet Approves Addition of 9 Foundations for Donations via e-Donation with Double Tax Deduction

The Cabinet has approved adding nine foundations eligible for donations via the e-Donation system, allowing donors to deduct twice the amount from their taxes. This covers medical care, rehabilitation, the disabled, emergency patients, public health, and education, effective until 31 Dec 2027 GMT+7.

On 26 May 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Lalida Pertwiwatthana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, disclosed that the government under Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul is promoting private sector and public participation in supporting medical, public health, and educational development through tax measures. The Cabinet considered and approved in principle a draft royal decree under the Revenue Code concerning tax exemption to add nine new donation recipients. Donors can deduct or expense twice the value of money or assets donated through the Revenue Department's e-Donation system.

This measure builds on the existing tax incentive supporting donations to 27 medical and public health organizations. This time, nine more recipients are added to broaden support across medical care, rehabilitation, disability, emergency patients, public health, and education, namely

  • The Dhammikat Foundation for the Blind in Thailand under Royal Patronage.
  • The Prosthesis Foundation under Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra.
  • The Siam Boromrajakumari Medical Foundation.
  • The Medical Governance Foundation.
  • The Sai Jai Thai Foundation under Royal Patronage.
  • The Somdej Chao Phraya Hospital Foundation.
  • The National Emergency Medical Foundation.
  • The Foundation for the Promotion of Academic Olympics and Development of Science Education Standards.
  • The Somdej Phra Yuparaj Hospital Foundation.

Regarding tax benefits,

individuals can deduct twice the donated amount, but combined with similar deductions must not exceed 10% of income after expenses and deductions.

Companies or juristic partnerships can deduct twice the donation amount as expenses, but not exceeding 10% of net profit before charitable, public benefit, educational, or sports expenses.

This measure applies to donations made from the date the Cabinet approved the principle until 31 December 2027 GMT+7.

Ms. Lalida added that the government views health and education system development as a shared responsibility across sectors, not solely the government's duty. This tax measure aims to encourage donations through a transparent and verifiable system that directly benefits the public, especially low-income individuals, patients, disabled persons, and vulnerable groups, improving their access to medical services, equipment, pharmaceuticals, and educational opportunities.

"This measure aligns with the government's policy to create opportunities, reduce inequality, and concretely improve quality of life by using tax incentives to motivate society to invest together in the health and education of Thai people."
