
"Akniti," Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, emphasized that Thailand is ready to receive a new wave of investments from around the world, attracting three major French companies to invest in batteries, cybersecurity, and digital ID.
On 27 May 2026, Akniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, revealed that the Thai government, led by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul along with relevant cabinet members and the Board of Investment (BOI), held talks with leading French companies including Imeyrs, Thales, and IN Groupe on 25 May 2026 in Paris, France.
The discussions focused on advanced materials for lithium batteries, cybersecurity, and digital ID. Akniti emphasized Thailand's potential as ASEAN's advanced manufacturing and technology hub, inviting these companies to strengthen Thailand's EV supply chain, develop cybersecurity infrastructure, and promote Thailand as a regional center for secure identity technology development.
Akniti concluded that amidst global geopolitical changes, the investment talks with these leading French companies reflect confidence in Thailand's capability to accommodate a new wave of global investment, which will serve as a key driver to steadily advance the country's economy.
