“Teng Natthapong” declared he is not afraid of senators suing to silence him, affirming that the “Blue Regime” dominating the country is true, and challenged whether they will sue the public as well.
On 27 May 2026, Mr. Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, party-list MP and leader of the People’s Party (PP), said in an interview about the communication concerning the “Blue Regime” that his intention was to make society aware of the fact that the current system in our country may not be the democracy it is claimed to be. Instead, a political faction is dominating the country, and he wants the public to judge whether what he says aligns with reality.
When asked about Mr. Pradorn Prissanantakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, who commented in a way suggesting gratitude toward the Orange Party for helping the Blue Party grow to its current size, Mr. Natthapong said this was merely political retort and he did not want to respond with sharp rhetoric.
“If we agree that the current system in our country is controlled by the Blue political faction, the true solution cannot come from elections alone. There must be a reform of the country’s highest rules to establish genuine democracy. One way is to draft a new constitution,” said the People’s Party leader.
Mr. Natthapong also addressed the group of senators who issued a statement demanding an apology and threatened legal action. He firmly stated he does not believe he owes an apology because what he said is factual and not directed at any individual. If anyone feels aggrieved and comes forward, he cannot prevent that and is not worried about facing the justice system.
Mr. Natthapong questioned that if he took off his party leader hat, ordinary citizens have the right to critique the country’s highest rules. Since senators are threatening to sue to silence him, he asked whether they intend to sue every citizen who criticizes the Blue political faction as well.
Regarding senators trying to link the term “Blue Regime” to the colors of the national flag, Mr. Natthapong asked whether anyone has heard him say that. He noted that those making such claims have long intended to slander his party—from the Future Forward Party to the People’s Party—as part of legal warfare to prosecute leaders and dissolve parties. He challenged their true intentions and whether they aim to obstruct democracy in the country.
