Duangrit led the Working Group team cycling to register as Bangkok Council members, revealing a focus on legislative work to amend laws that address the city's needs. He withheld endorsement for any governor candidate, stating he wants to review policies first and seeks to collaborate on sustainable city development.
At 06:35 on 28 May 2026 at Bangkok City Hall 2 in Din Daeng, the Working Group, led by Duangrit Benjathikul Chairurungruang, the group leader, along with candidates for all 26 Bangkok Council constituencies, cycled to register their candidacies.
Duangrit explained the strategy for this election, saying that today they are determined to work in the legislative branch for the people of Bangkok, aiming to address the needs of the city, its areas, and Bangkok as a whole, with strong commitment to this work.
When asked if they had decided on a Bangkok governor candidate to support and work with, Duangrit said they have discussed it and will primarily consider policies. If the policies are good and benefit their city, Bangkok, they are ready to fully collaborate.
Duangrit also spoke about their independence, saying it allows them to work across all dimensions, including major city issues. They are committed to meeting the needs of Bangkok and each constituency where they volunteer to serve.
When asked if he found any governor candidate's policies promising enough to support, Duangrit responded that anyone who aims to govern Bangkok well is possible to support.
Regarding any target number of council seats to win, Duangrit said that as an independent group, not a political party, their focus is on work rather than setting targets or numbers. Their main goal is to effect change. The team and their advisors have agreed to jointly develop the city sustainably, starting with revising and improving ordinances.
After the interview, Duangrit declared, “Ready to work,” before leading the council candidates to pay respect to the Erawan Airavata statue and proceed to register as council candidates.
