
Prime Minister Anutin Chanvirakul welcomed Vietnamese President To Lam and his wife on their official visit to Thailand. He led the inspection of the honor guard outside the Thai Khu Fah Building before joining discussions aimed at elevating comprehensive cooperation.
At 09:30 on 28 May 2026, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, disclosed that after concluding his visit to the French Republic yesterday (27 May), Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Chanvirakul immediately continued his official duties by welcoming Mr. To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly, his wife, on the occasion of their official visit to Thailand. As guests of the government, the visit took place on the lawn in front of the Thai Khu Fah Building at the Government House.
Upon arrival, the Prime Minister gave a warm welcome and led the Vietnamese President to inspect the honor guard. After the ceremony and inspection, the Prime Minister invited the President and his wife into the Thai Khu Fah Building to take a group photo at the main staircase, sign the government guestbook, and view commemorative gifts in the Ivory Room inside.
Subsequently, a small group discussion took place in which both sides exchanged views on regional and global situations, affirming their commitment to enhancing Thailand-Vietnam cooperation in all dimensions, including economic, trade, investment, security, and regional collaboration, before proceeding to the plenary session at the Phakdi Bodin Building.
Key Thai participants in the plenary discussions included Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Akniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, Professor Dr. Yossanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Suphajee Suthumpun.
The Vietnamese delegation comprised Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and Chairman of the Central Organization Commission; Mr. Phan Van Giang, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense; Mr. Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security; Mr. Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Commission for Information, Education, and Mass Mobilization; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Secretary of the Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Commission for Policy and Strategy; Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Ngo Van Tuan, Minister of Finance; Mr. Le Manh Hung, Minister of Industry and Trade; and Mr. Vu Hai Quan, Minister of Science and Technology.
