Saeng Confident Pattaya Mayoral Election Will Be Problem-Free No Complaints on First Day

The Secretary-General of the Election Commission observed the registration for Pattaya mayoral and city council elections, expressing confidence that this election will be problem-free. The central Election Commission team is ready to assist the Chonburi Election Commission. The first day went smoothly with no complaints.

On 28 May 2026 in Pattaya, Mr. Saeng Bunmee, Secretary-General of the Election Commission, visited to observe the registration of candidates for Pattaya mayor and city council at the Thappraya Meeting Room, Pattaya City Hall.

Mr. Saeng said that on the first day of registration, the central Election Commission office, the provincial Election Commission, and Pattaya city, along with the Deputy Governor of the province who came to observe, everything proceeded smoothly without any obstacles. This may partly be due to Pattaya and the provincial Election Commission’s preparation. So far, no reports of election law violations have been found.

Mr. Saeng stated that the Pattaya election is a form of local governance, so he urged eligible voters in Pattaya to take it seriously. How Pattaya develops and what kind of mayor or council members the people want depends on the residents of Pattaya. There are 113 polling stations in Pattaya. The Election Commission office has prepared to facilitate voters on election day, 28 June. He also encouraged citizens to follow the candidates’ campaigns and asked the public and media to help observe the voting process.

He emphasized that special polling station committees have been prepared for this election, with central involvement in organizing these committees to ensure no errors occur on voting day. However, he also urged public participation in monitoring the voting, the work of polling station committees, vote counting, and the final tally, to ensure a fair and transparent election.

Mr. Saeng also addressed candidates, saying those who registered should have studied election campaigning laws thoroughly. All candidates are qualified, so he believes the election atmosphere will remain orderly. While competition may be intense, he expects it to proceed well based on what he observed today.

The registration for mayoral and city council elections in Pattaya is open from today until 1 June 2026, from 08:30 to 16:30. The election day is scheduled for Sunday, 28 June 2026.
