On 28 May 2026 GMT+7 at Bangkok City Hall 2 (Din Daeng), after the candidate number draw for the Bangkok governor election was completed, it was reported that Ms. Mallika Boonmitrakhun Mahasuk arrived one minute late and therefore was assigned the last number in the draw.
Ms. Mallika said there were originally 15 candidates, but upon learning that 13 had already arrived, she intended to be the 14th to get that number. She added that if she did not get the top number, she would prefer the bottom number instead.
For campaigning, she initially plans to visit 14 locations, focusing on areas affected by PM2.5 dust and the creative economy, as well as places where people have requested her presence. The first stop will be Victory Monument, followed by Yaowarat Road in the evening. She plans to meet residents in 1-2 districts daily, confident from her prior study and understanding of the issues and context of each area in Bangkok.
