“Jaa Thananon,” wife of the Prime Minister, led Ngo Phuong Ly, wife of the President of Vietnam, to visit the beauty of Wat Phra Kaew and a Thai fabric exhibition, showcasing handicrafts that express the charm of Thai culture, while exchanging views on women’s roles.

At 10:00 a.m. on 28 May 2026, Mrs. Thananon Charnvirakul, wife of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, welcomed Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly, wife of Mr. To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, during her official visit to Thailand.

Ms. Lalida Pertvivatana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, stated that Mrs. Thananon led Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly to visit Wat Phra Si Rattana Satsadaram at the Grand Palace and pay respects to the Emerald Buddha, a sacred symbol of Thailand. They admired the exquisite architecture, fine arts, and valuable cultural heritage that reflect the unique charm and identity of Thailand, recognized internationally.

Afterward, both parties proceeded to the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles at the Grand Palace to view the Thai fabric and handicraft exhibition, reflecting the wisdom, delicacy, and creativity of Thai artisans, as well as the lifestyle and cultural identity passed down through generations, representing one of Thailand’s important global soft powers.

Following the visit, the Prime Minister’s wife hosted a luncheon in honor of the wife of the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam at Chakrapong Palace. Both sides exchanged close views on the role of women in fostering people-to-people relations, promoting mutual understanding, and exploring future cultural cooperation. Mrs. Thananon then accompanied the guest back to her hotel.

This spousal activity not only strengthened Thai-Vietnamese relations but also served as an important opportunity to promote the value and beauty of Thai art and culture, enhance positive awareness of the country, and further solidify cultural cooperation between the two nations.
