Prime Minister to Set Up Committee to Investigate Narucha Over Leaked Line Chat Help Namngern Claims, Denies Favoritism

Anutin is set to appoint a committee to investigate Narucha over the leaked Line chat saying 'Help Namngern.' He firmly states he has never favored anyone, denies any disruption in the ministry, and emphasizes focusing only on the Minister of Interior (Interior Minister). The ministry should not concern itself with anyone else.

On 29 May 2026 at the Royal Thai Police Headquarters, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul spoke about the scandal in the Khlong Luang Ministry following a leaked Line chat. The chat allegedly involved Narucha Kosasivilai, Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration, and Rungreung Thimabut, Phuket's provincial secretary. The conversation referenced unfair transfer orders related to not complying with political work and revealed politically sensitive messages such as 'Help Namngern' during the recent election campaign.

Anutin revealed he is aware that Narucha has issued a statement clarifying the issue. However, since he just returned from a mission in Phetchaburi province by helicopter, he has not yet had time to thoroughly review it. He will read and carefully consider the statement details later. Nevertheless, the Prime Minister strongly affirmed that if any improper behavior or evidence of wrongdoing is found, he is ready to establish a committee to investigate and ascertain the facts. He also firmly stressed to quell criticism that he has never helped anyone.

When asked if this issue might escalate into internal conflict within the Ministry of Interior, particularly concerning the transfer order of Phuket's provincial secretary, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior promptly denied any internal disputes. He concluded by saying there is no problem and that attention should focus solely on the Interior Minister (Minister of Interior), not others within the ministry.
