
The Department of Provincial Administration has concluded the “Thai Help Thai: Reduce Burden, Lower Cost of Living” project, which sold affordable goods simultaneously across 878 districts nationwide, achieving outstanding results with over 135.39 million baht in circulation and reducing citizens' living expenses by more than 29.62 million baht.
On 30 May 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Narucha Kosasivilai, Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration, revealed that under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, the “Thai Help Thai: Reduce Burden, Lower Cost of Living” project has been continuously advanced to alleviate citizens' living costs and stimulate the grassroots economy nationwide.
The Department of Provincial Administration collaborated with the Department of Business Development, modern wholesale and retail stores, local entrepreneurs, and mobile vendors to organize affordable goods sales simultaneously across 878 districts nationwide. This aimed to increase opportunities for the public to access essential goods at reasonable prices while supporting liquidity for small entrepreneurs (SMEs), community shops, and OTOP products.
The fifth and final event received continuous public support, with over 182,000 participants. This generated more than 24.49 million baht circulating in the economy and helped reduce citizens' expenses by over 5.10 million baht.
The top five provinces with the highest spending were Chonburi, Ang Thong, Saraburi, Chiang Mai, and Ratchaburi. The districts with the highest spending were Mueang Chonburi in Chonburi province, Mueang Saraburi in Saraburi, Mueang Nonthaburi in Nonthaburi, Mueang Phuket in Phuket, and Mueang Ratchaburi in Ratchaburi province.
Combining results from events one through five, the “Thai Help Thai: Reduce Burden, Lower Cost of Living” project generated total consumer spending exceeding 135.39 million baht and reduced citizens' living costs by more than 29.62 million baht.
The Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration added that the “Thai Help Thai: Reduce Burden, Lower Cost of Living” project has enabled citizens to access quality goods at affordable prices, reduced household expenses, and continuously stimulated grassroots economic circulation in all areas. He expressed gratitude to all sectors involved for their contributions in driving the grassroots economy and assisting the public to successfully complete the project.
