Sabida Kicks Off the 4th Creative Culture Caravan, Engaging Youth to Drive Cultural Development

Minister Sabida opened the 4th Creative Culture Caravan and its tour across four regions, promoting the concept "Culture’s Future is Now: The Power of Culture Creates the Future," to engage young people nationwide in driving and advancing culture further.

On 30 May 2026 at Muang Uthai Thani Kindergarten School in Uthai Thani Province, Ms. Sabida Thaiset, Minister of Culture, presided over the opening ceremony of the 4th Creative Culture Caravan event under the theme "Culture’s Future is Now: The Power of Culture Creates the Future."

Ms. Sabida revealed that the Ministry of Culture, through the Department of Cultural Immunity and Innovation Promotion, has continuously organized the Creative Culture Caravan for the fourth year to build social resilience and encourage partners—including children, youth, and the public—to manage their local cultural assets. Especially in today’s rapidly changing society influenced by artificial intelligence (AI) technology, this activity aims to create opportunities for children and youth to learn, understand, and participate in advancing culture, as well as expanding the creative youth cultural network nationwide.

This year’s Creative Culture Caravan is scheduled across four regions, starting in the North at Uthai Thani Province on 29 May 2026. The event featured a panel discussion including Assistant Professor Dr. Natthapong Yamcharoen, Deputy Dean for Research at the Faculty of Communication Arts, Kasem Bundit University; Mr. Sumit Simakul, President of the Thai Digital Content Association (DCAT); and Mr. Kitithiwat Theerawatkritiya (Golf), owner of the Status page. Additionally, workshops were held to create a creative space where children and youth could exchange ideas, learn, and collaboratively drive and create culture. Subsequent events are planned in the Central and Eastern regions on 12 June 2026 in Nakhon Pathom, the Northeast on 25 June 2026 in Buriram, and the South in July 2026 in Chumphon, respectively.

"I firmly believe that promoting culture by encouraging children and youth, as cultural owners, to think together and brainstorm to transform cultural capital and Thai ways of life into added value will preserve local identity, develop cultural capital further, and empower people with resilience against changes in the digital era. This will help foster awareness and pride in participating in driving a culturally diverse society creatively and sustainably," Ms. Sabida said.
