Chadchart Encourages Dr. Joe and Commits to Working with Peoples Party Councillors if Elected Governor

Chadchart campaigns in Sai Mai district, aiming to solve waste problems and expand transport routes. He meets Chaiwat, who greets him and says he is ready to assist if Dr. Joe becomes governor. However, if Chadchart is elected, he is prepared to work with People's Party councillors.

On 30 May 2026 at Ying Charoen Market in Sai Mai district, Bangkok, Chadchart Sittipunt, candidate number 9 for Bangkok governor, campaigned by meeting local residents and market vendors. Throughout the canvassing, he distributed brochures detailing over 250 policies to shoppers and vendors, receiving positive feedback.

Additionally, some residents greeted Chadchart, asking for photos and offering hugs of encouragement. He then visited the San Chao Pho Somboon community and met with people at the A.C. Sai Mai Market.

Reporters noted that during his visit to A.C. Market in Sai Mai, Chadchart met Chaiwat Sataworawijit, the People's Party candidate for Bangkok governor. Both were campaigning in Sai Mai and Bang Khen districts. Chaiwat approached Chadchart, who immediately said, “Hey Joe, how are you?” They shook hands, and Chadchart also greeted the People's Party's Sai Mai district councillor candidates.

Chadchart later said that Sai Mai is a newly developing, large area with a population of 215,000 people who have moved from inner Bangkok. He noted traffic issues: major routes have electric trains reaching Khu Khot and expressways to Sukhaphiban 5 and Chatuchot, but smaller connecting routes need development to improve convenience. He emphasized the need for more parking linked to the electric train and feasible feeder services, preferring not to compete with private companies but to find unserved routes and transfer customers to them if demand grows.

Regarding flooding and public services, Chadchart said services have expanded, including building Sai Mai Hospital, a fire station, improving roads, and developing urgent metropolitan service points so residents do not need to travel to district offices. Flooding is addressed by continuous improvements to embankments and drainage. His engagement with residents was well received; he said if people weren't benefiting, they wouldn't be happy to see him.

Chadchart also recalled that at Ying Charoen Market, vendors advised him not to be complacent. He affirmed that elections are unpredictable and stressed the need to work harder and create policies that meet public needs. He recently met an elderly woman sewing at home, inspiring a policy to gather seniors' skills. Bangkok would act as a mediator to find markets and aims to provide jobs for 10,000 seniors. There will also be centers for special-needs children and caregiver policies offering compensation for elder care. These visits help shape policies to improve residents' quality of life.

On Sai Mai's waste problem, Chadchart said garbage collection is the top complaint. Last year, coverage was only about 80%. GPS technology has been introduced to improve collection. Waste transfer stations in Sai Mai have fewer problems than elsewhere, though leachate sometimes spills onto roads, making them slippery and requiring monitoring. A planned local waste incinerator was postponed due to increasing nearby residents, leaving only the waste transfer station.

Regarding his encounter with Chaiwat during campaigning, Chadchart said it was positive and they encouraged each other. Chaiwat has many detailed good policies; their competition is about proposing beneficial ideas to the public. If Chaiwat becomes governor, Chadchart is ready to support him and work with everyone. If Chadchart wins, he has discussed cooperation with People's Party councillor candidates, emphasizing that party affiliation is not a barrier. Their meeting was friendly and they can work together regardless of who is elected.

Chadchart confirmed he plans to campaign in all 50 districts because each is equally important. Visiting communities helps confirm policies. He currently has 253 policies and might increase to 300.

Meanwhile, Chaiwat said many Bangkok problems are chronic, involving structural issues or main arteries. To solve these requires the Bangkok governor and related bodies to have strong political will. The People's Party supports decentralization policies to upgrade Bangkok's authority for greater self-management.
