Chef Nu Wields Spatula to Make Wagyu Fat Fried Rice at THAIFEX Before Preparing for Merit-Making in Krabi Tomorrow

On the last day of THAIFEX, the Prime Minister took on the role of chef to demonstrate his culinary skills, attracting crowds eager to take selfies before preparing to lead a merit-making ceremony in Krabi tomorrow.

On 30 May 2026, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul attended the THAIFEX-ANUGA ASIA 2026 food and beverage exhibition, accompanied by his wife, Madam Ja (Mrs. Thanon Charnvirakul), Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Supachai Sutthammanoon, and Permanent Secretary of Commerce Wutikrai Leewiraphan. They mingled informally with visitors as tourists, drawing continuous crowds who surrounded them to request photos.

The atmosphere was lively and cheerful as they toured the event. A highlight was their visit to the premium Wagyu beef booth by the Udom Supply brand, where the Prime Minister did not just sample the meat but took on the chef’s role, grilling Wagyu beef himself on a hot grill. Booth staff asked, “Is the meat tender and tasty?” The Prime Minister nodded in approval, enjoying the meat enthusiastically, then kindly beckoned nearby visitors who were photographing him to join in tasting the premium Wagyu beef.

His passion for cooking continued as Anutin proceeded to the Wagyu fat fried rice booth, where he showed off his skills with a spatula, sharing his personal secret recipe in front of the crowd: “The fat fried rice must be stir-fried dry to be delicious.” He then asked the booth owner where their storefront was, intending to support them, but was told they have no retail store and only supply hotels and high-end restaurants directly.

It is expected that this year's global food expo will be a tremendous success, generating total trade value of up to 130 billion baht, boosting Thai food's Soft Power on the international stage in line with government strategy.

Beyond his tasting and shopping duties in Bangkok, on Sunday, 31 May, Anutin is scheduled to travel to Krabi province to preside over a unity merit-making ceremony at Tiger Cave Temple in Krabi Noi Subdistrict, Mueang District, alongside local residents. The event will be welcomed by the Andaman region leaders of the Bhumjaithai Party, led by List MP Sasithorn Kittitharakul, accompanied by three Krabi MPs: Kitti Kittitharakul, Thiradet Tangmankokit, and Kittichai Engchuang.
