Thai Help Thai Plus 60/40 Starts 1 June at 6 AM Government Emphasizes Easy Use via Pao Tang App

The government will launch the "Thai Help Thai Plus 60/40" program on 1 June, emphasizing easy use via the G-Wallet. The state will subsidize up to 200 baht per day, with monthly settlements at month-end and no allowance to carry over unused funds.

On 31 May 2026, Ms. Lalida Pertwivatana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, disclosed that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul is preparing to launch the "Thai Help Thai Plus 60/40" program officially starting from 1 June 2026 onwards, aimed at reducing citizens' living expenses, stimulating the grassroots economy, and increasing liquidity for small retailers nationwide.

Ms. Lalida added that the government wishes to emphasize the usage method for citizens to ensure they can conveniently, quickly, and correctly exercise their rights. Citizens can begin using the program via the "Pao Tang" application from 6:00 AM onwards. Users should tap the "Thai Help Thai Plus" banner and check the initial credit they have been granted.

Steps to use "Thai Help Thai Plus"

  • Citizens must top up money into their G-Wallet.
  • Then, merchants open the "Thung Ngern" app to generate a QR Code.
  • Citizens use the Pao Tang app to scan and pay; the system automatically calculates the co-payment proportion.
  • Confirm the transaction with a six-digit PIN.

The program operates on a co-payment principle of "government pays 60%, citizens pay 40%" such as if purchasing an item for 100 baht, the government pays 60 baht and the citizen pays 40 baht. For a 333 baht purchase, the government subsidizes up to 200 baht per day, and the citizen pays 133 baht.

The deputy government spokesperson further revealed that the government will support up to 200 baht per day and a maximum of 1,000 baht per month. Balances will be settled at month-end and cannot be carried over to the next month. The program is available for use from 1 June to 30 September 2026. "The government wants the Thai Help Thai Plus 60/40 program to be a measure that citizens can truly access, is easy to use, and effectively reduces living costs, while also helping to circulate money within the grassroots economy nationwide," she said.
