Prime Minister Anutin Leads Buddhist Community in Kathin Ceremony to Promote Tourism at Tiger Cave Temple, Krabi Province

Prime Minister Anutin led Buddhist devotees in a Kathin ceremony to promote tourism at Tiger Cave Temple in Krabi Province, supporting the preservation of Buddhism alongside sustainable local income generation.


At 10:30 a.m. on 31 May 2026, at Tiger Cave Temple, Krabi Noi Subdistrict, Mueang Krabi District, Krabi Province, Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, presided over the Kathin ceremony to unite faith and raise funds for renovating and constructing Buddhist facilities within the temple. The event was attended by Mrs. Thananon Charnvirakul, Chairwoman of the Cabinet Spouses Committee and Honorary Advisor of the Ministry of Interior's Housewives Association; Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport; Worasilp Liangprasith, Deputy Minister of Interior; Ms. Traisulee Traisoranakul, Secretary to the Prime Minister; Atsit Sampanarat, Permanent Secretary of the Interior Ministry; Jinnarat Sampanarat, President of the Ministry of Interior Housewives Association; Montien Charoenpol, Auditor General; Siam Sirimongkol, Director-General of the Community Development Department; Angkoon Silatewakul, Governor of Krabi Province; Sarinthip Silatewakul, Chairwoman of Krabi Ministry of Interior Housewives Association; Ms. Sasithorn Kittitharakul, Member of Parliament for Krabi; Somsak Kittitharakul, Chief Executive of Krabi Provincial Administrative Organization. The event was blessed by Phra Thep Wachirakorn, Deputy Chief Monk of Region 17 and Acting Abbot of Tiger Cave Temple. Total Kathin donations from all sectors reached 8,101,818.99 baht.


Upon arrival, the Prime Minister attended a performance. The traditional Krabi circle dance performed by women from Mueang Krabi District. He then proceeded to the temple's sermon hall for the chanting ceremony, Kathin celebration, and presentation of the Kathin offering. The main objective was to promote Tiger Cave Temple in Krabi Province, an important and renowned religious site in southern Thailand, as a suitable venue for religious ceremonies and monastic activities, while encouraging Buddhist tourism. This supports job creation and stable, sustainable income for the community, in line with government and Ministry of Interior policies. During the Kathin celebration, Phra Thep Wachirakorn blessed the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior for successful governance over the next four years to bring prosperity to the nation and its people.
