Chadchart Campaigns at Mega Plaza, Sees Critics as a Healthy Sign, Advises Against Self-Bias

Chadchart, candidate for Bangkok governor 2026, campaigned at Mega Plaza where crowds showed support and asked for photos. He considered having detractors a positive thing that serves as a reminder not to be overly self-favoring. Meanwhile, a toy shop owner shared his impressive experience.

At 11:50 a.m. on 31 May 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, independent candidate for Governor of Bangkok, accompanied by former Deputy Governors Mr. Sanan Wangsaengboon and Mr. Wisanu Subsompol, along with the "Bangkok Works" team, campaigned at Mega Plaza shopping center, Saphan Lek. They met the public and communicated the "Livable Bangkok 250+ Policy" ahead of the 28 June 2026 election. The atmosphere was lively; upon arrival, both Thai and foreign visitors greeted them, requested photos, and took selfies with Chadchart in a friendly manner.

Chadchart said Mega Plaza is a key wholesale toy market he knows well and often visits because he used to buy toys for his nephew. He views this area as a gathering place for youth and young entrepreneurs, especially those who don't just seek jobs but create work, build careers, and turn their interests into their own businesses. Along the route, Chadchart spoke with the public, asking for their support. Many people took flyers, offered encouragement, and cheerfully teased him, saying, "No need to campaign; your votes will already be overwhelming," adding color to today's campaign visit.

. When asked by reporters about public response during the motorcade, Chadchart said he felt happy and encouraged, expressing thanks for all the support he received. “Those who criticize or dislike us may not wave or cheer for us, which is actually good because it helps remind us not to be overly self-favoring,” he said.

During the campaign walk, a toy shop owner approached Chadchart and shared a memorable story. Nearly four years ago, Chadchart visited the shop and showed interest in a model. The owner intended to gift it to him, but Chadchart insisted on paying 4,000 baht, saying, “I want this to be a transaction.” The owner added that he was happy to see Chadchart again today, being a fan, and admired his hardworking nature. The owner also described the model as an Art Toy based on Chadchart’s likeness, made by a friend’s shop, limited to 200 pieces, with few remaining now.
