Chadchart joined the Pride Month parade, believing that Thai society's acceptance of sexual diversity will be a strength for Thailand's bid to host World Pride 2030. He expressed relief that despite heavy rain flooding Bangkok, drainage was completed within one hour.
31 May 2026 GMT+7 Chadchart Sitthiphan, candidate for Governor of Bangkok, joined the parade event “Pride Month 2026.” This annual event was attended on Silom Road by Associate Professor Tawida Kamolwech, Mr. Sanan Wangsrangboon, and Mr. Pornprom Wikitset, members of Chadchart's team, who also joined the parade.
Chadchart stated in an interview that this event is one of four festivals included in their policy because Bangkok has a strength in embracing and welcoming people with differences. It is an important event in their bid to host World Pride 2030. The policy to embrace sexual diversity is crucial, including paving the way to host World Pride, making Pride Month an annual event,
and implementing programs to support everyone, such as employment to prevent bullying, ensuring equal rights, opening pride clinics to provide counseling for sexual minorities, and offering healthcare services for night workers who cannot access medical care during the day. He believes this is Bangkok and Thai society's strength — accepting differences and equality in all aspects, making many feel that Bangkok is friendly, attractive to visit, and a place to live.
Moreover, the increasing participation of foreigners is a positive dimension. They see Thailand as friendly, not only regarding sexual diversity but also other aspects. Thailand is livable with a good environment, attracting talented people and investors. This acceptance of differences is one reason Bangkok is the world's most visited city, as it is friendly without discrimination or bullying. He urged promoting this strength, including support for the elderly, people with disabilities, and differing opinions, all of which must coexist.
Additionally, Chadchart spoke about the rain before the parade began, noting that there was heavy rainfall measuring 90 millimeters, especially in Pathumwan district where the pride parade was held, but the water was drained within one hour. He said he was an observer that day, feeling excited and anxious. Regarding the NIDA Poll survey showing that Bangkok residents tend to prefer independent candidates over party-affiliated ones, Chadchart said, there are many independent candidates, not just himself. He urged voters to choose someone they trust, whether affiliated with a party or not.
After the interview, Chadchart continued in the parade. Before reaching Sala Daeng intersection, Anucha Boonyachai Sri, the Democrat Party’s candidate for Bangkok governor, approached to greet him and took a photo together. At that moment, people shouted for them to make a heart gesture, which both Chadchart and Anucha formed by joining half-heart shapes with their hands, creating a colorful and humorous moment for attendees. Chadchart then continued the parade to Thephasadin Stadium to join the Pride Month 2026 activities.
At one point, Chadchart also met Mallika Boonmeetakul Mahasuk, an independent candidate for Bangkok governor, who came to the event as well. They greeted each other with a handshake.
