Chadchart created a running route shaped as the Thai numeral “๙” and Arabic numeral “9” covering a total distance of 9 kilometers, using the Green Bridge to connect Lumphini Park and Benjakitti Park. He emphasized that “Good health is priceless,” affirmed that the Bangkok team is working, and pledged to continue efforts to improve the quality of life for Bangkok residents.
1 June 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, an independent candidate for Governor of Bangkok, joined fellow runners for a 9-kilometer run connecting Lumphini Park and Benjakitti Park, creating a gimmick by running along routes shaped like the Thai numeral “๙” and Arabic numeral “9”. The "Run with Chadchart" event started at 05:30 with a meeting point at the Sweet Eye Curve in Lumphini Park. They began running around Lumphini Park in the shape of the Thai numeral ๙, then headed onto the Green Bridge to connect to Benjakitti Park, running around that park in the shape of the Arabic numeral 9. The total distance was 9 kilometers, matching Chadchart’s candidate number.
The morning run was lively and enjoyable. During the run, Chadchart greeted people exercising in Lumphini Park warmly and said, “Good health is priceless.” At one point, he met a runner who shared, “I actually felt I couldn’t keep running, but seeing Professor Chadchart running gave me energy and made me want to run alongside him.” After completing the first route of about 3 kilometers around Lumphini Park shaped like the Thai numeral ๙, Chadchart cheerfully said, “The first step is taken.”
Then Chadchart and the group headed toward Benjakitti Park via the Green Bridge, which is about 800 meters long. Participants enjoyed city views, seeing diverse communities including churches, mosques, and homes. The Green Bridge area has been revitalized with new paint and added greenery, transforming the more than 20-year-old bridge into a lively and beautiful place. The atmosphere was warm and inviting.
During a break, people exercising came over to take selfies with Chadchart in a friendly manner. The group then resumed running, with Chadchart leading and friends singing along behind him. Completing the route around Benjakitti Park formed the Arabic numeral 9, totaling over 9 kilometers for the entire run.
, The highlight of the morning run was using the Green Bridge to connect Lumphini and Benjakitti Parks, two large public green spaces in central Bangkok. The Green Bridge restoration project was driven by Chadchart to link green areas, promote well-being, and encourage walking and cycling in Bangkok. It also revitalized the old bridge structure, giving it new life and value. The bridge is now especially popular among runners.
Chadchart and the “Bangkok Works” team prioritize tangible development of public spaces, especially advancing the “15-minute park” policy to distribute small green spaces within communities so residents can access recreational and exercise areas within a 15-minute walk. This goes hand in hand with the “Walkable Bangkok” policy, focusing on improving infrastructure and sidewalks for safe connectivity. Today’s run confirms that the Bangkok Works team is ready to continue developing the city and enhancing residents’ quality of life, making Bangkok a city full of opportunities and hope for everyone.
