Government Cracks Down on Drugs for One Month, Seizes 128 Million Methamphetamine Pills, 9 Tons of Ice, and Freezes Assets Worth Over 631 Million Baht

The government announced that during the proactive drug network raids from 28 April to 29 May 2026, over 1,611 networks were dismantled, with seizures including 128 million methamphetamine pills, more than 9 tons of ice, and asset freezes exceeding 631 million baht.


On 1 June 2026, Ms. Ploytale Laksamisangchan, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, stated that following government policy and directives from Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, relevant agencies were instructed to monitor the situation and accelerate nationwide drug suppression efforts, emphasizing intensified proactive measures to decisively dismantle the structures and cycles of drug trafficking networks.

Ms. Ploytale said the government, through the Royal Thai Police, collaborated with relevant agencies to implement the policy by conducting nationwide drug network raids from 28 April to 29 May 2026. They arrested suspects in 19,362 drug cases, detaining 19,406 individuals and executing 664 arrest warrants. Confiscated evidence included 128 million methamphetamine pills, 9,225 kilograms of ice, 434 kilograms of ketamine, 140 kilograms of heroin, 3,650 ecstasy pills, 322 firearms, and 1 explosive device. Additionally, 4 million baht in cash was seized and assets linked to criminal activities were frozen, totaling over 631 million baht.

The government commended all personnel involved for their dedicated cooperation in carrying out arrests, crackdowns, and dismantling drug networks with tangible results. They also urged the public to report any drug-related crime tips via hotlines 191 or 1599, available 24 hours a day, or to their nearest police station, to collectively build a safer society and protect Thai children from drugs.
