Over 180 MPs Sign Pheu Thai Partys Constitutional Amendment Draft, To Submit to Parliamentary Speaker This Week

Manaporn revealed that over 180 MPs have signed the Pheu Thai Party's constitutional amendment draft, preparing to submit it to the parliamentary speaker this week. She emphasized the aim to involve the public as much as possible in the amendment process without contravening the Constitutional Court's rulings.

1 Jun 2026 GMT+7 Manaporn Charoensri, Deputy Leader of the Pheu Thai Party, spoke about the progress regarding the submission of the Pheu Thai Party's constitutional amendment draft, stating, “The Pheu Thai Party is now ready to submit the constitutional amendment draft, as members of parliament (MPs) from multiple parties—including Bhumjaithai, Prachachon, Kla Tham, Democrat, Prachachat, and nearly every other party—have signed the draft, totaling over 180 signatures.” She added that they will coordinate with other political parties to submit the amendment draft to the parliamentary speaker within this week. The next steps will involve the speaker verifying the signatures and then scheduling it as an agenda item.

When asked whether the constitutional amendment drafts from Bhumjaithai and Pheu Thai could be combined, Manaporn replied that it depends on each article’s compatibility and ultimately on the parliamentary session’s decision on how to proceed. She said the Pheu Thai Party’s goal is to ensure the public's maximum participation in the constitutional amendment process while respecting the Constitutional Court's rulings, aiming to successfully complete this amendment. .
