Anucha, Democrat Party candidate for Bangkok Governor, together with the Suan Luang District Council candidate, visited the On Nut waste disposal facility, emphasizing that waste problems require a closed system approach and forward-thinking solutions that must be genuinely effective.
At 09:30 on 1 June 2026 GMT+7. Anucha Burapachaisri, Democrat Party candidate for Bangkok Governor. Along with Sakolthee Phattiyakul, Deputy Leader of the Democrat Party overseeing Bangkok, who accompanied him to campaign. For Thanawat Cherdchookitsakul, Democrat Party candidate for the Bangkok Metropolitan Council (BMC) representing Suan Luang District. They toured the On Nut Waste Management Center office ( On Nut waste disposal facility ) and discussed Bangkok's waste management.
Anucha later stated that the main issue at the waste facility is odor. He has discussed with both private and government sectors about implementing a closed system. He noted that garbage trucks, operated by private companies collecting waste from villages and communities, are not yet closed systems. Upon arrival at the plant, the closed system is still incomplete. If elected, he plans to implement odor detection using scientific monitoring equipment in the future. Budget discussions will continue to find the most cost-effective solution.
. Planning for the future should not be limited to the 4-year term of the Bangkok Governor. Waste disposal must become a systematic, ongoing matter beyond political terms, whether 8 or 12 years. Decisions must focus on the best solutions so residents can coexist with waste facilities long-term. With thousands of tons of waste daily, Bangkok must consider the best options. On behalf of the Democrat Party and the BMC candidates, I volunteer to address these real problems with a long-term perspective.
Anucha added that a closed system might be implemented immediately, while converting waste to electricity will take time but must be expedited. Waste must be managed sustainably and comprehensively.
