Registration Opens Today for New Social Security Board Election, Urging Insured Persons to Shape Fund’s Future

"Sia Champathong," People's Party MP, invites insured persons and employers to register for the Social Security Board election from 1 June to 15 July 2026 to determine the fund’s future, ensuring its stability and sustainability.

On 1 June 2026, Sia Champathong, a party-list MP from the People's Party, posted on Facebook that the Social Security Office opened registration for insured persons and employers to gain voting rights. This follows the announcement by the Election Commission of Employer and Insured Representatives dated 25 May 2026, setting Sunday, 27 September 2026, as the election day for employer and insured representatives, with voting conducted by ballot cards.

Registration to exercise voting rights is set from 1 June to 15 July 2026 through the following channels:

1. Social Security Office website www.sso.go.th, available 24 hours daily (for both employers and insured persons).

2. The Social Security Office’s SSO Plus application, available 24 hours daily (for insured persons only).

3. Social Security Office branches in Bangkok, provinces, and districts (for both employers and insured persons), open from 08:30 to 16:30 daily, including public holidays.

All Thai nationals who are employers or insured persons registered under the law for at least six months prior to the election announcement, and who have contributed to the fund for no less than three months within six months before the announcement, are invited to register. This election selects the Social Security Board to manage the fund transparently and accountably, fostering participation and ensuring the fund’s long-term stability and sustainability.
