Democrat Party Campaigns as Anucha Pleased with Voter Recall of Number and Policies in Din Daeng Market Area

Abhisit led the Democrat Party team to campaign in the Din Daeng Market area to support the council candidate, while James-Anucha, the Democrat candidate for Bangkok governor, was pleased that people remembered his number and policies.

At 07:30 on 2 June 2026, at Din Daeng morning market in Din Daeng district, Bangkok, Mr. Anucha Burapachaisri, known as "James," the Democrat Party's candidate for Bangkok governor, number 5, along with Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, Democrat Party leader, and the party's executive team including Mr. Sakolthee Phattiyakul, Ms. Kadee Liao-Pairot, deputy party leader, and Mr. Ong-art Klam-aipailin, party leader's advisor, joined a campaign to support Ms. Jantima Sithisurat, candidate for the Din Daeng council, number 4. They met with the people at Din Daeng morning market in a warm atmosphere. Market vendors and shoppers greeted them warmly, offered encouragement, and took photos casually. Mr. Ong-art acted as an impromptu photographer, helping take pictures for the Democrat Party team using mobile phones from the public. Mr. Anucha greeted and asked about people's living conditions and the economic cost of living from vendors, introduced himself and the party's council candidates for Din Daeng, and explained about the two election ballots: the green ballot for Bangkok governor, where they asked for votes for number 5, and the pink ballot for the 50 council seats in Bangkok, asking voters in Din Daeng to mark number 4.

Mr. Anucha spoke about one of the five main policies, income generation, saying he has visited Bangkok residents who already remember Democrat number 5 and recall all five key policies that resonate: convenient transportation, clean housing, comfortable living, increased income, and accountability. Many said these five issues cover everything without needing other topics because the problems already exist and permanent government officials can handle them; what remains is effective oversight because Bangkok can achieve more. Regarding income and cost of living, the Democrat Party, led by Mr. Abhisit, plans to submit motions in the House of Representatives to address several issues, through live questions and parliamentary discussions. These are not only reflections of Bangkok’s problems but address the entire country’s structure and economic security for sustainable development, aiming for Thailand to become more competitive. On solving Din Daeng’s problems, Mr. Anucha said they will focus on making daily travel more convenient, improving community cleanliness, preventing garbage accumulation, ensuring final waste disposal causes no issues, and increasing residents’ income. He asked everyone to support the party’s council team in all 50 districts and to choose him as Bangkok governor from the Democrat Party team.

Abhisit asks for a chance for the Democrat Party to complete unfinished work.

Meanwhile, Mr. Abhisit said in an interview that the key in campaigning to present Mr. Anucha’s policies and candidacy for Bangkok governor is not just to campaign and leave, but to come down and witness the problems firsthand, such as unresolved issues including the misuse of cannabis sales causing multi-dimensional problems in Bangkok, and ongoing waste issues. These include improving waste separation efficiency, increasing personnel for collection, and waste management. He affirmed that the Democrat Party clearly proposes a fully closed waste system, which was started by the party’s previous governor and awaits continuation. On flooding, Mr. Anucha promotes a policy using giant water drainage tunnels. These issues will be gradually presented to Bangkok residents. If people see these problems remain unresolved and recognize the Democrat Party’s clear stance, then the party is best positioned to act. Afterward, the Democrat Party campaign team and Mr. Anucha toured campaigning with a loudspeaker on top of a campaign vehicle, accompanied by council candidates, seeking votes along Prachasongkroh Road, receiving warm responses with people waving and greeting along both sides of the road.
