Anutin Emphasizes Kaokradong Case Is in Judicial Process, No One Above the Law

Anutin revealed the 2570 budget is 7 billion baht higher than last year and stressed it must be used efficiently. Regarding Seri Phisut's visit to Newin's residence, he emphasized the Kaokradong case is in the judicial process with no one above the law.

2 June 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, said at the Government House after the Cabinet meeting that this morning he invited the Deputy Prime Ministers to meet at the Thai Khu Fah Building before their two-week foreign missions. Today's Cabinet meeting included budget matters to be approved and submitted to Parliament. The Budget Bureau director summarized the details for all Deputy Prime Ministers, and everything aligns with the budget framework, noting that this year's budget (2570) is only 7 billion baht more than last year. Therefore, he emphasized that all agencies must use the budget as efficiently as possible and distribute it broadly to the public to the greatest extent feasible.

Meanwhile, Anutin also commented on the case where Police General Seri Phisut Temiyavet, party-list MP and leader of the Seri Ruam Thai Party, traveled to Buriram province and went to the residence of Mr. Newin Chidchob, chairman of Buriram United Football Club, to follow up on the legal progress regarding the Kaokradong land dispute, stating that everyone has the right to act according to their beliefs, but the Kaokradong case and the alleged collusion in the senator election are already under judicial process. Once verdicts are issued, everyone must comply. No one is above the law or allowed to violate it.

When asked if the Ministry of Transport has reported progress on reclaiming land plots, Anutin said it is the responsibility of the State Railway of Thailand (SRT), which likely reports to Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport. The Ministry of Interior's Department of Lands has continuously reported that the rulings are not binding on all plots as some claim. Judgments apply to individual plots, and the reality is villagers sued the SRT to issue land titles, but the court denied this. It is incorrect to assume other plots are all illegal. The SRT must sue for each plot individually, and it is doing so. When courts issue rulings, everyone must comply; no one can defy them.
