The Cabinet has approved clearing the State Welfare Card system and plans to open a new registration round, expected to start within one month. The eligibility criteria require annual income not to exceed 100,000 baht. Students are not eligible to register.
On 2 June 2026, Mr. Siripong Angkasunkiet, Deputy Minister of Transport, said after the Cabinet meeting that the Cabinet approved the Ministry of Finance to proceed with the new round of State Welfare Card registration. The next steps will involve setting details and criteria to screen eligible participants for the program.
Initially, the criteria will remain similar to the previous registration, such as an annual income not exceeding 100,000 baht. However, this time, students will not be allowed to register. The assessment will primarily consider income and eligibility, but the data verification process is expected to be more stringent to ensure assistance reaches those most in need.
The Prime Minister has instructed relevant agencies to proceed carefully and to ensure that eligible citizens can access their rights comprehensively. Various agencies, including the Ministry of Interior, will help facilitate the registration process.
Regarding the timeline, it is expected that the registration will open to the public in about one month, followed by the eligibility verification process. Official details will be announced later by the Ministry of Finance.
