
Suriya revealed that Prime Minister Anutin has urged close monitoring of the Middle East situation as tensions have begun to rise again. The Ministry of Agriculture plans to propose cost-reduction measures to help farmers at the National Rice Policy Committee meeting on 11 June.
2 June 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, said after attending the Cabinet meeting that today’s session included only informational reports from the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. Regarding the renewed tensions in the Middle East on the night of 1 June, the ministry will instruct relevant agencies to continuously monitor the situation.
Additionally, at today’s Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul emphasized that all related agencies must closely follow the situation. If the agricultural sector is affected, the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives will consider measures to assist farmers.
Regarding support measures for rice farmers, Mr. Suriya stated, that at the upcoming National Rice Policy Committee meeting on 11 June 2026, the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives is preparing information to propose for consideration. This will help establish guidelines to assist rice farmers facing increased production costs. .
