Thaksin feels relieved after being granted a royal pardon on the occasion of the Grand Royal Ceremony celebrating the 4th cycle birthday anniversary of Her Majesty the Queen on 3 June 2026 GMT+7.
On 2 June 2026 GMT+7, following the Royal Gazette announcement of the Royal Decree granting a royal pardon on the occasion of the Grand Royal Ceremony celebrating the 4th cycle birthday anniversary of Her Majesty the Queen on 3 June 2026 GMT+7, the pardon aims to give inmates an opportunity to reform and contribute to the nation. As a result, Thaksin Shinawatra, who was among those granted conditional release under Sections 7 and 8, received the royal pardon and was immediately freed. Previously, he had been released on parole and left Klong Prem Central Prison on 11 May 2026 GMT+7, but was required to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet for another four months. However, with this new royal pardon decree, he and over a hundred other inmates benefited from this clemency.
