Dr. Sun Launches “A.I. CAPITAL” Campaign to Transform Bangkok into a Smart City

Dr. Sun vowed to transform Bangkok into a smart city under the concept “Bangkok Family – A.I. CAPITAL,” using AI to tackle traffic congestion and flooding problems.

On 3 June 2026, Mr. Pongsak Puapornpong, known as Dr. Sun, an independent candidate for Bangkok governor, revealed his vision to develop Bangkok. His main campaign, “Bangkok Family and A.I. CAPITAL,” focuses on reforming and enhancing the efficiency of the capital’s bureaucracy by applying artificial intelligence (AI) technology. This aims to streamline complex procedures for faster, more transparent, and accountable operations that precisely meet citizens’ needs.

Dr. Sun stated that the key approach to solving the capital’s chronic crises is to integrate AI and Big Data to systematically manage traffic and flooding issues. Alongside this, he plans to develop a “Security Phone” policy—a two-way coordination and incident reporting system via smartphones. The goal is to establish over 100,000 network connection points across Bangkok to monitor safety, prevent crime, and provide 24-hour advance natural disaster alerts, effectively involving the public in cooperation with the government.

Additionally, Dr. Sun shared past achievements from January to December 2025, noting his support for a team producing promotional media and designing the “Ong Ang Art Market” at Khlong Ong Ang in Phra Nakhon district. This initiative created a creative space for art and stimulated the local economy, generating income for residents. He also outlined policy frameworks addressing livelihoods and welfare in Bangkok, such as free ambulance services, reorganizing street vendors by designating relaxed or lifted no-selling zones to allow sales under hygienic standards, promoting cultural eco-tourism, and positioning Bangkok as the world’s culinary center—offering food that is delicious, safe, and affordable.

“I am fully prepared for the new dimensions that will arise in Bangkok, including issues with rainwater drainage and the economy. I ask for your support and the opportunity to serve as governor with candidate number 3. Bangkok residents will definitely see real change,” Mr. Pongsak said confidently.
