At 8:00 p.m. on 3 June 2026 at the main stage in Sanam Luang, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and his wife, Thanon Charnvirakul, presided over the royal homage and candlelighting ceremony marking Her Majesty the Queen’s 80th birthday anniversary on 3 June 2026. The event was attended by the President of the Parliament, the President of the Supreme Court, heads of constitutional organizations and their spouses, the Cabinet and their spouses, senior government officials, military, police, civilians, private sector representatives, and the public, all joining the ceremony in unison.

Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, revealed that upon arrival at Sanam Luang, the Prime Minister, the President of the Parliament, and the President of the Supreme Court paid respects by performing the traditional wai gesture before the portrait of Her Majesty the Queen, then laid golden and silver floral tributes. The Prime Minister then offered incense, candles, and lit the candles to express blessings. Afterwards, he respectfully presented his best wishes and led the blessing in front of the portrait, stating:

“On the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s 80th birthday anniversary on 3 June 2026, I, Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, together with the Thai people from all walks of life gathered here at this ceremonial ground and across the country as well as around the world, am deeply honored and joyful to join in expressing our loyalty and gratitude for Her Majesty’s great benevolence today.

Throughout the years, Her Majesty has carried out numerous royal duties with a heart full of compassion to bring happiness and well-being to the people. She has continued the royal aspirations of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, in areas of public health, social welfare, and vocational promotion, enabling citizens to live securely. She has also personally visited various projects, mindful of the welfare of all people. Moreover, Her Majesty has promoted Thai textiles and local handicrafts, adorning herself with exquisite Thai fabrics on many occasions, thereby proudly showcasing Thai wisdom to the world. Her gracious heart and exemplary conduct have enhanced the honor of Her Majesty throughout the nation.

On this most auspicious occasion, I humbly seek permission to lead all the people in presenting this royal blessing:

“We humbly offer our heartfelt blessings with loyalty. We invoke the Triple Gem and the power of all universal sacred entities to graciously protect and grant Her Majesty long life with the fourfold blessings, great honor and glory spreading far and wide, happiness and prosperity, to remain a cherished shelter and inspiration for all of us and the people forever.”

Following this, music played the royal anthem. The Prime Minister and his wife received candle lanterns and joined in singing the royal praise song. The Prime Minister then led the crowd in chanting “Long live the Queen” three times, marking the conclusion of the ceremony.
