‘Rome’ Confirms Appointment of ‘Suraphol’ as Ally Against the Blue Regime

‘Rome’ confirms the appointment of Suraphol as an ally opposing the blue regime, rebuffing claims that the politburo influenced the selection and denying any signal of a pact with right-wing factions.

On 4 Jun 2026 GMT+7, at the Parliament, Rangsiman Rome, party-list MP and deputy leader of the Prachachon Party (PChn), spoke about appointing Suraphol Nitikrai-poch, former Thammasat University rector, as chairman of the party’s Bangkok governor strategy. He emphasized that the party’s ideology remains unchanged. When asked about comparisons to the Pheu Thai Party’s alliance with the Bhumjaithai Party, which PChn heavily criticized, Rangsiman said he did not want to compare who was better or worse, leaving that judgment to the public. He stressed that their party has never betrayed or abandoned principles. Their approach is to do what is necessary to confront the blue regime, which is consuming Thai society and monopolizing everything. Given the current state of the country, if they do not unite strongly against the blue regime, Thailand’s future is at risk. When speaking of uniting forces, he stressed to media and citizens not to take his words out of context—it is not a call to use any means necessary for victory, but rather to get the first step right from the start.

Rebutting claims of politburo interference.

Asked whether this signals readiness to compromise with right-wing factions to form government or gain power, Rangsiman said it is not about setting a directive to compromise. Instead, they are pointing out problems such as constitutional issues, collusion in the Senate, widespread corruption, and monopolization that is disgraceful. He also mentioned concerns over scammers possibly linked to some deputy prime ministers. At this point, it is not about compromise but about identifying enemies destroying the nation and seeking allies. He sees this as a milestone message, not a call for compromise. When questioned about accusations targeting the politburo as the selector of Suraphol, and how Suraphol was brought in, he responded:

“Don’t delve into details for now. Firstly, there is no politburo; it is not part of the party’s structure—perhaps just a label or something else. Secondly, I think Suraphol has contributed to the Prachachon Party, at least by serving as a witness in various cases, reflecting his role. So, don’t get caught up in the process of how he joined. The party’s leadership has made this decision, and we’ll see with time whether it was right or wrong.”
