
Julphan, Minister of Labour, followed up on the operations of the Social Security Election Management Center, reaffirming the commitment to conduct the Social Security Board elections transparently and urging officials to give their utmost effort.
4 June 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Julphan Amornwiwat, Minister of Labour, along with political executives and Police Lieutenant Colonel Wannapong Kotcharak, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, led a team of ministry executives to visit the Social Security Election Management Center at the Social Security Office headquarters in Nonthaburi Province. The visit aimed to monitor readiness and provide guidance for the smooth, transparent, and efficient conduct of the 2026 Social Security Board elections. Ms. Kanjana Phoolkaew, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, social security executives, and staff welcomed the delegation.
Mr. Julphan stated, that the election of employer and insured representatives to the Social Security Board is a crucial mechanism allowing stakeholders to participate in setting the direction and driving the social security system, which is an essential safeguard for Thai workers. The selection process must be transparent, fair, and verifiable to genuinely reflect the will of the electorate.
He also emphasized the role of the Election Management Center as the central coordinator and supporter of election operations, including providing accurate knowledge to voters, candidates, and all related parties. He instructed officials to perform their duties with care, impartiality, and prioritize the interests of employers, insured persons, and the social security system to ensure the election is orderly and earns trust from all sides.
The Election Management Center has rotating staff working continuously throughout the operation period, offering services daily, including public holidays, from 08:30 to 16:30. It supports inquiries via the phone number 02 956 2929 with 10 lines and the hotline 1506 press 9 to ensure accessibility for all users. According to reports since opening on 1 June, no complaints have been received. Statistics show that 319 calls were made to the center's direct line and a total of 716 calls including the hotline, from insured persons and employers seeking information.
Meanwhile, Ms. Kanjana Phoolkaew, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office and Director of the Election Management Center, said the office is ready to support the Labour Minister’s policy by establishing the center to drive and facilitate all aspects of the election process. She stressed that all center staff have been instructed to perform transparently and proactively to build confidence among users, while preparing the election process across all regions to be as thorough and smooth as possible.
