Government Advances Thai Help Thai Project to Fully Promote SMEs and OTOP Online

The government is advancing the "Thai Help Thai" project to fully promote SMEs and OTOP products in online markets, joining forces with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, Ministry of Commerce, and Thailand Post to reduce costs, increase sales, and expand trade opportunities in the digital era.

On 5 June 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Lalida Pertwivatana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, announced that the government, led by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, is supporting Thai entrepreneurs, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and OTOP sellers, to compete and grow in the digital economy. This effort is a collaboration among the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, Ministry of Commerce, and Thailand Post under the "Thai Help Thai" project, which aims to reduce costs, increase sales channels, and expand online markets for entrepreneurs nationwide.

The Deputy Spokesperson said the project will help systematically bring Thai SME and OTOP products into the online market through the ThailandPostMart platform, which connects producers, entrepreneurs, and consumers nationwide. The government has implemented various support measures to reduce burdens and increase trade opportunities for entrepreneurs.

A key measure is the waiver of the gross profit (GP) fee for the entire project duration, directly lowering online sales costs for entrepreneurs. This allows shops to reinvest their revenue to develop their businesses and enhance competitiveness.

To stimulate purchasing power, the government has created discount codes for consumers buying through the platform. For orders of at least 200 baht, customers receive a 100-baht discount, with a total of 500,000 rights available, amounting to 50 million baht in support funds. This aims to encourage spending and increase sales for entrepreneurs nationwide.

Meanwhile, Thailand Post supports logistics by offering a special shipping rate of only 20 baht per order and providing each shop with 250 free shipping coupons to help reduce delivery costs, which is a significant expense in online commerce.

Additionally, the project promotes digital marketing through influencers and live selling events to raise awareness and boost real-time sales. This helps entrepreneurs reach a wider consumer base, increase income opportunities, and expand their customer base online.

Ms. Lalida stated that the government prioritizes enhancing the capabilities of Thai entrepreneurs, especially small-scale and local community businesses, enabling them to leverage digital technology for business operations, expand marketing channels, add value to products, and sustainably grow economic opportunities.

"The Thai Help Thai project not only reduces entrepreneurs’ cost burdens but also creates an online trade ecosystem that supports the growth of Thai SMEs and OTOP sellers. It enables entrepreneurs to access new markets, increase sales, generate income, and strengthen the country’s grassroots economy," she said.
