The government spokesperson revealed that since the 'Anutin 1 Government,' there has been a serious crackdown that has reduced fake accounts across all categories, with 1,494 suspects in scam networks arrested, over 57 million baht in cash seized, and assistance provided to 808 victims.
On 6 June 2026, Ms. Rachada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, stated that efforts to suppress fake accounts and online crime since the 'Anutin 1 Government' reflect the administration's determination, directing all agencies to work continuously in an integrated manner to stop the cycle of deceiving the public via financial and technological systems.
According to operational data from the Anti Cyber Scam Center of the Royal Thai Police between October 2025 and May 2026, proactive detection of fake accounts through the Central Fraud Registry (CFR)—a central database used by the Bank of Thailand and financial institutions to exchange information and trace financial transactions—showed 189,887 personal fake accounts, 10,672 corporate fake accounts, and 1,140,731 related transactions.
Significantly, personal fake accounts decreased by 76.9%, corporate fake accounts dropped by 88.4%, and related transactions declined by 66.1%. This demonstrates that data sharing among the police, security agencies, financial institutions, regulators, and digital agencies has effectively cut off the financial channels of criminal networks.
The Prime Minister's Office spokesperson added that these developments align with the recent meeting of the Committee on Technology and Transnational Crime Prevention and Suppression, chaired by the Prime Minister on 5 June 2026, where comprehensive discussions covered security, law enforcement, finance, anti-money laundering, and cyber threats.
Previously, technology crime cases declined from 34,478 to 16,920 cases, a 50.9% reduction, while the value of damages fell from 2.224 billion baht to 513 million baht, a 63.2% decrease. Additionally, 1,494 suspects in scam operations were arrested, over 57 million baht in cash seized, and 808 victims assisted.
Ms. Rachada stated that the Prime Minister has emphasized that the crackdown on all types of cybercrime and fake accounts must continue relentlessly, with accelerated legal action against offenders at all levels—from account openers and providers to hired networks and masterminds behind the scenes—because the damage extends beyond financial losses to public safety and confidence in the overall economic system. This requires data, law enforcement, and integrated agency cooperation to cut off the roots of online crime.
