Chadchart Declares He Would Have Been Dead Long Ago If Corrupt After Chris Exposes Arkong System, Condemns Position Buying

Chadchart declared that if he were truly corrupt, he would have been dead long ago after Chris Potranan, party-list MP from the Economic Party, came forward to expose the 'Arkong' system. He emphasized that buying and selling positions is unacceptable because it causes disaster.

On 6 June 2026, Chadchart Sittipunt, candidate for Governor of Bangkok, said in an interview after Chris Potranan, party-list MP from the Economic Party, exposed the 'Arkong' system, that there was nothing to it. From what he heard in the summary, there was no concrete substance. The 'Arkong' mentioned might refer to Tor Sak Chotimongkol, former chief advisor to the Bangkok governor, who assisted as part of the advisory team. All decisions depend on the team; there is no 'Arkong' system nor meetings that require holding phones. The only 'Arkong' is the AI 'Arkong' because meetings use AI to answer questions, and everyone must have a phone. So it is considered a modern 'Arkong.' It is quite laughable to suggest phones must be collected. Moreover, Tor Sak is a tech-savvy computer user who might use AI more than I do. Regarding the claim of a 4-kilogram bribe, he confirmed no money was transferred to anyone.

Regarding the allegation of an 'Arkong' regime involving buying and selling 16 district director positions, Chadchart said he was unaware of this, but if it had happened, it should have been reported. He also asked Jakkapan Phiwngam, former Deputy Governor of Bangkok, who confirmed no such matter existed. He emphasized that buying and selling positions is unacceptable and is the root of disaster. Whatever others do, he does not know, but he does not engage in such practices, because placing corrupt people in management means ultimately they become our bosses since they paid for the position.

"If corruption really existed, I believe I would have been dead long ago because everyone is watching me, including Bangkok councilors from every political party who constantly monitor me. I came alone without councilors in hand, which represents a perfect check and balance system. A governor without councilors can survive if standing straight, honestly working for the people," he said.

Chadchart reiterated that the transfer of district directors follows a merit-based system and criteria, and he believes it is unrelated to buying and selling positions.

When asked why seniority does not guarantee receiving a district director position, Chadchart said that seniority is only one of the criteria. Not all senior people get positions because then people would not consider ability or other factors.

Meanwhile, Tawida Komonwetch, from the Bangkok Working Team, added that the selection criteria out of 100 points include 30 points for a portfolio, 50 points consisting of experience accounting for one-quarter (10 points), 10 points for adherence to government regulations, and the last 10 points for ethics. Thus, the parts are clearly divided, and experience is only one part, not the whole.
