
The Election Commission (EC) revealed progress on the review of objections to the 2024 Senate election, reporting over 97% completion. They have forwarded 40 criminal cases to the courts. The EC also disclosed that, as of 8 February 2026, there were 309 complaints related to the MP election, with 85 objections dismissed or rejected.
On 6 June 2026, the Public Relations Office of the Election Commission (EC) released an update on the review of objections and findings regarding the 2024 Senate election. The EC had held Senate elections at district, provincial, and national levels in June 2024.
As of 25 May 2026, there were a total of 605 objections to the Senate elections. The EC completed reviews on 587 cases. Among these, 279 were reviewed based on formal objections: 145 were dismissed or consolidated as data, 132 were dismissed or terminated, and 2 required vote recounts.
Regarding cases with final rulings, there were 308 in total: 266 objections were dismissed, 2 cases resulted in suspension of rights, 13 proceeded to criminal prosecution, and 27 were submitted to courts for decisions. An additional 18 cases remain under review.
On the same day, the EC's Public Relations Office also disclosed progress on objections related to the general election of members of the House of Representatives (MPs) held on 8 February 2026, following the 2025 royal decree dissolving the House. As of 25 May 2026, there were 309 complaints: 264 from formal objections and 45 from other findings. The EC completed review of 85 cases, including 71 dismissals or consolidations and 14 dismissals or terminations, with 224 cases still pending.
