Reporters noted that on Saturday, 6 June 2026, there was notable activity involving Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra, former Prime Minister, after his name appeared among those granted a royal pardon, when Ms. Pathongtharn Shinawatra, also known as Ing, former Prime Minister, and Ms. Pinthongtha Shinawatra Kunakornwong, or Aim, his two daughters, shared Instagram story posts from Mr. Pitak Suksawat, Ing’s husband and Thaksin’s son-in-law, showing them visiting a shopping mall.
The first story showed the back of Mr. Thaksin holding hands with Ms. Pathongtharn on his right, while on the left were Ms. Pinthongtha and a granddaughter, with the caption “SATURDAY” and a heart emoji, tagging both daughters as they walked in the mall. The second story showed Mr. Thaksin holding hands with Ms. Pathongtharn while going down an escalator.
This marked Mr. Thaksin’s first public appearance after receiving a royal pardon on the occasion of the Grand Royal Ceremony celebrating the 4th cycle birthday anniversary of Her Majesty the Queen (3 June 2026). Over 10,000 inmates nationwide qualified for the pardon, including Mr. Thaksin.
