Industry Minister Warawut clarifies that Xinke Yuan has resumed operations after complying with regulations and has ordered the Permanent Secretary to provide additional details to reassure the public and 10 steel associations.
At 07:00 on 8 June 2026 at Military Airport 2, Wing 6 (Don Mueang), Warawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Industry, addressed the case of the Department of Industrial Works permitting Xinke Yuan Steel Co., Ltd. to continue producing steel bars. This reopening follows compliance with the Factory Act of 1992 after a closure last year due to required corrections. Although operations have resumed, concerns remain among the public, various parties, and 10 steel trade associations about the reopening procedures. Therefore, the Minister has instructed the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry to provide a detailed explanation of the steps taken, especially regarding the safety of the public in using steel products from any production technology. He emphasized that the Ministry must expedite measures, including those involving steel users from different production methods, to build public confidence. After returning from Vietnam, he will follow up with the Ministry on the progress of these actions.
