The government is pleased that the first batch of 20 youths under the Outstanding Development Opportunity Scholarship (ODOS) program have safely arrived in the United States. It is now moving forward to open applications for the second round of 100 scholarships to continue advancing Thai children's dreams on the global stage until 15 June.
On 8 June 2026, Captain Phatdarasmi Thongsaluaykrorn, Deputy Spokesperson of the Office of the Prime Minister, announced that the government congratulates the first batch of 20 ODOS (Outstanding Development Opportunity Scholarship) students who have successfully arrived in the United States. The group arrived at Boston International Airport before proceeding to Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, the institution hosting their learning and development activities.
The U.S. student supervisor office recently reported that all students are in good health with no illnesses and have safely reached their accommodations. They have settled into their rooms, unpacked, and are preparing to receive orientation about the school and participate in the Proactive Preparatory Session, designed to help them adapt confidently to studying and living abroad.
“The government takes pride in seeing Thai youth step out to explore international learning opportunities. The ODOS program, a collaboration between the Ministry of Education, the Office of the Civil Service Commission, the Equitable Education Fund (EEF), and related agencies, is a key policy aimed at creating equal educational opportunities. It provides a platform for talented children and youth to develop knowledge, skills, and experiences that they can later apply to national development.”
The success of the first batch of ODOS students reflects that educational opportunities can transform lives and create new futures for Thai youth. Therefore, the government invites qualified students to apply for the 2026 second round of the ODOS scholarship program, which is now open for applications.
For the second batch of ODOS scholarships, the Office of the Civil Service Commission is offering 100 scholarships for Grade 11 high school students and third-year vocational certificate students who have strong academic records and potential, and who have received ODOS scholarships from the Equitable Education Fund (EEF). These scholarships support studies in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), and future industries in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
The scholarships cover all necessary expenses, including tuition fees, round-trip airfare, books and educational supplies, computer costs, pre-departure preparation expenses, and monthly living allowances throughout the study period. This enables recipients to focus fully on their studies without financial worries.
Interested applicants can apply online anytime from now until 15 June 2026, 24 hours a day, including public holidays. This will be followed by a written examination on 2 August 2026, covering English and STEM aptitude tests.
