“Akkaranan” teams up with “Linthiporn” to visit Pattani to follow up on compensation for “Teacher Patimoh,” declaring that southern teachers are frontline warriors in education.
On 8 June 2026, Mr. Akkaranan Kankittinan, Deputy Minister of Education and Director of the Rights Protection Center, appointed by Minister Prasert Chanruangthong, together with Dr. Linthiporn Warinwatchararoen, Assistant Minister of Education, and Ms. Paramee Waichongchareon, advisor to the Deputy Minister, visited Prasarnwitthaya Foundation School in Yarang District, Pattani Province. They came to offer encouragement, deliver compensation funds, and assist with documentation for the family of Teacher Patimoh Yago, who died in the southern border provinces incident. They also listened to issues and offered support to local education personnel.
Mr. Akkaranan expressed deepest condolences for the loss and hoped for a swift return to peace in the area. He encouraged all officials, especially teachers working hard to teach both general and religious subjects while ensuring children's safety. The Ministry of Education has expedited compensation rights from the Private Teachers Assistance Fund amounting to 4 million baht, provided scholarships for all of Teacher Patimoh's children through to their bachelor's degrees, and plans to push policies to increase budgets and expand welfare coverage for private out-of-system teachers.
The Deputy Minister of Education added that education personnel must not be neglected, as their ministry is a beacon of hope for nation-building. The modern agency is committed to breaking all barriers and sincerely caring for the frontline educational warriors in the southern border areas. They will ensure that no one is left isolated again,” Mr. Akkaranan concluded.
