Bangkok Governor Election 2026: Thairath broadcasts live the "City Control Game," a contest of wit and vision among three candidates for Bangkok governor. "Anucha" from the Democrat Party reveals five policies competing for the Bangkok governor position: convenient travel, clean city, comfortable life, better income, and full transparency.
On 8 June 2026 at 17:30, Thairath TV Channel 32 and Thairath Online will broadcast a special program "City Control Game," a challenge to showcase visions clearly, revealing which Bangkok governor candidate can effectively solve the capital's problems. The program will delve deeply into their visions through challenging tasks such as puzzle tests, city crisis tier lists, and critical questions for the governor candidates, hosted by Pa Toy and Kai Pongsakorn.
The candidates presenting their visions and competing to solve problems for Bangkok residents include Mr. Anucha Burapachaisri, Democrat Party candidate; Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, independent candidate; and Mr. Chaiwat Stahowarawijit, People's Party candidate.
In the program's opening, the governor candidates were introduced and given two minutes each to present policies aimed at winning the hearts of Bangkok residents. Mr. Anucha Burapachaisri The Democrat Party's Bangkok governor candidate, number 5, stated, "I have five key policies to present: convenient travel, clean city, comfortable life, better income, and full transparency. I have negotiated with various sectors and am confident these can be achieved."
Convenient travel means creating connectivity within Bangkok's transport systems — rail, boat, and bus — through an integrated ticketing system with a single card. I personally helped draft this legislation, so I see a clear path forward for a single card that works across all modes, reducing extra costs and making public transport more affordable for Bangkok residents.
Additionally, regarding routes, I will work to manage and negotiate to bring the BMTA buses under Bangkok's administration and address related matters. Introducing electric boats will also be expedited as soon as possible.
Next, for a clean city, waste management must be accelerated urgently, including solving odor and wastewater problems swiftly. To improve quality of life, everything must get better, especially support for the elderly across all age groups. Finally, on the economy, incomes must improve.
