King Prajadhipoks Institute Hopes City Control Game Debate Will Help Citizens Choose Bangkok Governor

The Secretary-General of King Prajadhipok's Institute hopes the debate "City Control Game" will serve as a tool to help citizens decide on the Bangkok governor based on data and facts.

On 8 June 2026, reporters announced that starting from 17:30, Thairath TV Channel 32 and Thairath Online will broadcast a special program live, "City Control Game" a vision-challenging contest designed to clearly reveal which Bangkok governor candidate can effectively solve the city's problems. The program delves deeply into their visions through challenging missions, including a puzzle testing intelligence, a tier list of city crises, and tough questions for the candidates. The show is hosted by Pa Toy and Kai Pongsakorn.

The Bangkok governor candidates presenting their visions and problem-solving skills for the city's residents include Mr. Anucha Burapachaisri from the Democrat Party, Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt running as an independent, and Mr. Chaiwat Stawornwijit from the Prachachon Party. The program can be watched simultaneously starting at 17:30.

Associate Professor Dr. Issara Seriwatthanawut, Secretary-General of King Prajadhipok's Institute, revealed that this is the first collaboration with Thairath to organize a debate for the Bangkok governor election. Today's global context has changed significantly; voters have shifted from mere spectators to active reviewers. Whenever candidates speak, whether online or through various media, citizens not only listen but also comment and scrutinize.

Surveys by King Prajadhipok's Institute, or KPI Poll, found that although some candidates have higher scores, a large portion of voters remain undecided. This undecided group must make a choice by 28 June 2026.

Therefore, we want decisions to be based on policies and the solutions proposed for the next four years. We aim to cultivate a political culture where those volunteering to serve the public must make commitments openly and be accountable for their promises.

Hence, as an academic institution, we believe we can compile key issues and partner with a quality media outlet like Thairath to design a new, engaging format for presenting visions—one rarely seen before. We expect today's forum to be full of both enjoyment and knowledge, helping citizens make decisions based on information and facts.
