Anutin Holds Serious Talks with Ministers and Permanent Secretary of Interior after Receiving Report on Unresolved Phuket Mafia Issues

Anutin spoke with the ministers and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior in front of the Thai Khu Fah Building, following up on efforts to crack down on Phuket's mafia and preparing to revive the committee against influential figures, assigning Pol.Pii to take responsibility.

At 11:22 a.m. on 10 June 2026, reporters reported that after the Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul returned to the Thai Khu Fah Building at the Government House, then stood talking with Pol.Pii Suwannachavi, Deputy Minister of Interior; Siripong Angkasakulkiat, Deputy Minister of Transport; and Atthit Sampanrat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, all with serious expressions. It was reported that the Prime Minister inquired about the progress in managing the Phuket mafia. This followed recent reports that the problem remains unresolved.

Pol.Pii revealed after the discussion that the Prime Minister ordered action on pending and unfinished matters, to be carried out in coordination with relevant local agencies.

It was reported that the Prime Minister plans to appoint an executive committee to prevent and suppress influential figures, with himself as chairman but assigning Pol.Pii to be responsible, similar to the role previously held by Chada Thaiset while serving as Deputy Minister of Interior.
