
At today's Cabinet meeting, approval was granted for the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRT) to lease or grant rights and develop real estate, multipurpose buildings, and spaces along the Orange MRT line, as well as properties along the Blue and Purple MRT lines, totaling 56 locations.
On 10 June 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Ploytale Laksamee Sangchan, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that the Cabinet approved in principle the proposal to allow the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRT). to lease or grant any rights over real estate and to develop properties including buildings and multipurpose spaces for the Orange MRT project between the Thailand Cultural Centre and Min Buri (Suwinthawong) (the "Orange Line Project"), Orange Line Project along the MRT route and at the maintenance center entrances and exits of the Metropolitan Rapid Transit Authority's Blue Line project (the "Blue Line Project") and the Purple Line project (the "Purple Line Project"), Blue Line Project and Purple Line Project which have real estate values exceeding ten million baht, totaling 56 locations, to provide conveniences for the public and MRT users. These include facilities such as automated teller machines (ATMs), vending machines, retail shops, telecommunications services, advertising spaces, activity plazas, and recreational areas. The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRT) has formulated a master plan for real estate development concerning leasing or granting rights for properties valued over ten million baht and developing MRT properties (the Master Plan) to guide MRT and relevant agencies’ operations. The plan aims to provide facilities for MRT users, increase revenue, reduce government subsidies, encourage more users, and maximize real estate efficiency by
dividing the areas for implementation into four groups. These are: Group 1,
