The meeting of the committee overseeing and inspecting the 400 billion baht loan voted to select Supachai Jaisamut, a party-list MP from Bhumjaithai Party, as chair. "Ice" complained that the vice chairs were all from the government side, leading to a change in personnel.
On 10 June 2026 at the Parliament, the special committee on monitoring and inspecting the loan spending under the Royal Decree authorizing the Ministry of Finance to borrow funds to address the impacts of the energy crisis and to drive energy transition in the country for 2026 met for its first session. Mr. Suchart Thadathamrongvej, a party-list MP from Pheu Thai Party, chaired the temporary meeting to select the permanent committee chair. The meeting voted to appoint Mr. Supachai Jaisamut, a party-list MP from Bhumjaithai Party, as committee chair. For the vice chair positions, Mrs. Nantana Songpracha, a party-list MP from Bhumjaithai Party, was nominated as the first vice chair, and Mr. Paopoom Rojanasakul as the second vice chair.
This prompted Ms. Rakchanok Srinok, a party-list MP from the Prachachon Party, to object that all leadership roles were held by government side members, with no opposition representation. Mr. Suchart then suspended the meeting to allow both sides to negotiate. When the meeting resumed, Mrs. Nantana proposed having five vice chairs: 1. Mrs. Nantana, 2. Mr. Paopoom, 3. Mr. Phandil Nuamjeum, a Bangkok MP from Prachachon Party, 4. Mr. Phai Lik, a Kamphaeng Phet MP from Kla Party, and 5. Mr. Chaiyana Dedacho, a Nakhon Si Thammarat MP from Democrat Party. The committee spokespersons were designated as Mrs. Patida Tantirattananon, a Surin MP from Bhumjaithai Party, and Mr. Supachot Chaisat, a party-list MP from Prachachon Party. The committee will meet every Wednesday, and next week will invite agencies from the Ministry of Finance, including the Fiscal Policy Office (FPO) and the Public Debt Management Office (PDMO), to report on the overall economic situation and details of the 200 billion baht budget already spent under the Thai Chua Thai Plus project.
