Chaiwat is unfazed by the NIDA poll showing him dropping to third place. He is confident about strong debate momentum and says criticism of Chatchat merely points out unresolved issues.
On 12 June 2026, Mr. Chaiwat Sathawornwijit, Bangkok gubernatorial candidate from the Prachachon Party, campaigned in the Angree Dunant area and gave an interview regarding the NIDA poll results showing his popularity dropping from second to third place (8.20%), behind first-place Chatchat Sitthiphan (67.30%) and second-place undecided voters (10.20%). He stated he was not worried at all.
Chaiwat explained that the poll was conducted from 4 to 7 June, before two major debate events. He said the response after the debates has been very positive, with the public beginning to recognize Bangkok's chronic problems such as corruption and unresolved structural issues. He expressed confidence that in the final two to three weeks before the election, his popularity would rise.
“The most decisive poll will be on 28 June 2026. The more people who vote, the better the outcome,” Chaiwat said. Regarding the trend of voting for Chatchat as governor but choosing Prachachon party councilors, he emphasized that to see the party's policies succeed and transform Bangkok into a city that cares for its people, voters must also choose a governor from the Prachachon Party rather than entrusting policies to another governor.
When asked about the wave of attempts to discredit Chatchat, Dr. Joe affirmed there is no coordinated smear campaign but urged people to see these as factual issues. For example, the gold card healthcare rights or problems raised two years ago by Mr. Suphanat Meenachainan, a Prachachon party MP, remain unresolved. Furthermore, irregularities discovered in procurement will be developed into the "AI Catching Corruption" policy to manage Bangkok’s budget of over 500 billion baht efficiently, aiming to improve the quality of life in the capital.
