Permanent Secretary of the Interior Ministry Informs Provincial Governors Nationwide to Hold Ceremony Offering Holy Water for the Royal Funeral at Provincial Halls

The Permanent Secretary of the Interior Ministry has instructed provincial governors to organize ceremonies offering holy water for the royal funeral before the portrait of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha at provincial halls, district offices, temples, or other suitable locations.


At 18:00 on 12 June 2026, Mr. Arsit Sampanrat, Permanent Secretary of the Interior Ministry, revealed that the Royal Household Bureau announced the passing of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendirathepdevadi, Krom Luang Rajsarinisiri Patchra Mahawachararatchathida, dated 12 June 2026. The announcement also detailed the ceremony for offering holy water and paying respects to her royal funeral, scheduled for Saturday, 13 June 2026, from 08:30 to 12:00, at the Sahathai Samakhom Pavilion in the Grand Palace.


The Permanent Secretary of the Interior Ministry stated that to allow all citizens nationwide to collectively commemorate and participate in the ceremony with loyalty, the Ministry has instructed all 76 provincial governors to hold ceremonies offering holy water for the royal funeral before the portrait of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendirathepdevadi on Saturday, 13 June 2026, from 08:30 to 12:00, at provincial halls, district offices, temples, or other appropriate venues. Officials and state enterprise employees are to wear their white formal uniforms with mourning armbands, while the public should dress in mourning attire. Public communications should be made to ensure awareness among all residents and subjects to encourage participation. Venues are to be decorated with black and white cloth respectfully from 12 to 26 June 2026, a period of 15 days, during which condolence signing will also be organized.
