Julaphan revealed that Pheu Thai Party's constitutional amendment draft has removed concerns regarding the Constitutional Assembly following the withdrawal of Bhumjaithai MPs' signatures. The party plans to gather MPs' signatures again before submitting the draft to Parliament in time for its consideration.
On 13 June 2026 GMT+7, Julaphan Amornwiwat, leader of the Pheu Thai Party, spoke about the progress of the party's constitutional amendment proposal after delaying it to revise content following the withdrawal of support from Bhumjaithai MPs. He said that currently, Pheu Thai has a working group handling this matter and plans to present the drafted content at the party's MPs meeting next week. If there is consensus and no further amendments are needed, they will collect MPs' signatures to submit the proposal to the President of Parliament. The ongoing draft adjustments address concerns raised by various parties, such as the origin of the Constitutional Assembly MPs, ensuring compliance with the Constitutional Court's rulings while adhering as closely as possible to democratic principles. When asked about the timeline for submitting the draft to the President of Parliament, Julaphan said the schedule is tight. He understands that the President plans to place the constitutional amendment draft on the agenda for consideration by the end of June, and they aim to complete their process in time for that review.
