“Nattachon” Explains New Evidence That “Newin” Lent Money for Heart Surgery Expenses

“Nattachon” explains new evidence that “Newin” lent money for coronary artery surgery expenses, preparing to use it as evidence to appeal to the National Anti-Corruption Commission after complaints alleged his parliamentary assistant paid the medical fees on his behalf.

On 14 June 2026, Mr. Nattachon Srikoekua, Member of Parliament for Songkhla from the Bhumjaithai Party, posted on his personal Facebook page addressing the life crisis he must prove the truth about, explaining the origin of the heart surgery costs. He stated he borrowed money from Mr. Newin Chidchob, Chairman and CEO of Buriram United Co., Ltd., with a clear loan agreement.

He explained that he was born into an ordinary family in Songkhla province with a dream to serve his hometown as a representative. He dedicated himself, persevered, and fought for every issue until gaining the trust of the people, being elected as a member of the Songkhla Provincial Administrative Organization Council from 2004 to 2008 and then advancing to become a Member of Parliament for Songkhla's 7th district with the Bhumjaithai Party in 2019. Yet amid this good fortune, a life crisis struck unexpectedly when doctors discovered he had three blocked coronary arteries and needed urgent surgery shortly after serving just one parliamentary session (120 days).

Mr. Nattachon said initially the doctors estimated hospital expenses for a seven-day stay would not exceed 400,000 baht. However, the situation worsened severely with complications of "fluid around the heart." Doctors attempted to drain the fluid via the ribs but failed, requiring a second surgery on the same wound, resulting in a prolonged hospital stay of more than 20 days and total costs soaring to 900,000 baht.

At this desperate moment with no solution and needing funds to pay the hospital to be discharged, he thought only of “Mr. Newin Chidchob,” who kindly helped cover the medical expenses on humanitarian grounds as a respected elder. The hospital acknowledged and recorded this agreement clearly.

However, this matter was reported to the National Anti-Corruption Commission accusing him of having his parliamentary assistant pay the medical fees, which is untrue. In Thai society, gratitude to benefactors during life-threatening illness is a sensitive matter, and he never intended to deny this truth.

During the initial investigation by the National Anti-Corruption Commission, he may not have fully explained the issue to avoid burdening the elder. But when the commission voted 5 to 1 to require an appeal, he submitted new evidence, which is a “loan agreement” made on 20 November 2019, to pay the medical expenses, along with additional witness testimonies now under review by the National Anti-Corruption Commission.

Mr. Nattachon added that regardless of the outcome, he is prepared to accept and fight through the legal process, confident in justice and truth, hoping society understands his sincere intention and recognizes the life crisis he faced at that time.

“I affirm to the public that I received kindness and opportunity from Mr. Newin Chidchob. In my role as a Member of Parliament, I have worked honestly and dedicated myself to developing my hometown to repay the debt to the land and the new chance at life I was given—both surviving a physical health crisis and receiving political opportunities from the people of Songkhla and Thailand.” , Mr. Nattachon said.

“I believe in the principle that ‘the truth never dies.’ Fighting with facts through a transparent legal process is the right and most honorable path. I trust that my sincerity will ultimately be clearly proven to society.” Mr. Nattachon concluded his statement.
